With International Women’s Day approaching it’s the perfect moment to highlight the top 5 Women-Led Design Studios that inspire me on every level. In fact, these studios not only excel in creativity and innovation, but they also push boundaries and challenge the norms of the design world. Undoubtedly, as we look toward 2025, these studios are definitely ones to watch for any designer. Enjoy the ride!

1. StudioNari

StudioNari is one of the best London-based branding agencies, known for its ability to impress and push boundaries. Their portfolio features standout projects for major clients e.g. Netflix, Nike, Desmond & Dempsey, and Johnnie Walker. Founded by Caterina Bianchini, it has a particular focus to projects driven by the motor Not Always Right Ideas. This fuels their bold, experimental approach to design, particularly in typography. StudioNari prioritises the human experience in every project, stepping away from conventional design limits to bring fresh, unique perspectives. Recently, the agency announced the addition of Chloe Legret as their new Design Director. Without a doubt, StudioNari is a studio to watch in 2025!

2. Hey Studio

Hey is a top Woman-Lead Creative Studio based in Barcelona, specialising in developing creative strategies and visual languages for clients worldwide. Firstly they work with brands like Uniqlo Barcelona, Lufthansa, and ISDIN. The founder and Creative Directress Verònica Fuerte brings a multidisciplinary, forward-thinking approach to design, blending limitless creativity with an innovative perspective. She is a member of A.G.I (Alliance Graphique Internationale) and the Jury President of D&AD 2024. Furthermore, Hey’s commitment to promoting creativity, leadership, and feminism shines through initiatives like the Women at Work podcast, which empowers women in design. 3. &Walsh

&Walsh is a worldwide renowned creative agency based in New York, founded by the talented Jessica Walsh. After amicably parting ways with Stefan Sagmeister, with whom she co-founded Sagmeister & Walsh, Jessica established &Walsh. The agency specialises in brand strategy, art direction, design, and production across all platforms. &Walsh is known and celebrated for its bold, innovative approach to branding and advertising. It’s core mission is to harness creativity to start meaningful dialogues and drive positive change. Renowned for her bold, colourful, and provocative designs, she has garnered international acclaim. With a focus on creating unconventional brand experiences, she challenges audiences. Her motor is to foster meaningful connections between progressive brands and socially conscious consumers. Carla’s personal philosophy, encapsulated in her mantra I’m Not For Everyone, reflects her commitment to creating designs that resonate deeply with those who appreciate bold and meaningful aesthetics. Carla was featured on the cover of Forbes magazine in November 2024, highlighting her influence and the impact of her work.

5. Ingrid Picanyol

Ingrid Picanyol Studio is a Barcelona-based design studio founded by the multiple award-winning Creative Director Ingrid Picanyol. I have been following Ingrid’s work for years years, and she always exceeds my expectations. Ingrid Picanyol Studio is known for its bold, innovative approach to branding, website design, and packaging. She creates visually striking and conceptually rich projects that resonate with contemporary audiences. With a focus on blending creativity with strategic insight, the studio has garnered numerous awards, including multiple ADG Fad Laus Awards in 2024. Ingrid Picanyol’s work continues to push boundaries and inspire with its powerful storytelling and unique visual language. Particularly, I want to highlight the series of campaigns she’s created for the Torelló Mountain Film Festival —definitely worth a look!
